MotherLode HQ

Privacy Policy

MotherLode HQ connects skilled people with businesses and households that need them, and doing that well means holding some real information about you. This page says plainly what we collect, why, and what happens to it. No part of it is written to be skimmed past — if a sentence here doesn’t answer a real question you have, ask us directly.

What We Collect

When you join as a professional, we hold what you tell us about yourself and your work — your name, contact details, the skills and hours you’re offering, and anything else you choose to put in your profile. When you join as a business or household looking for help, we hold your contact details and the details of what you’re booking.

When a booking is paid through MotherLode HQ, your payment goes through Stripe, our payment provider. We never see or store your full card details ourselves — Stripe handles that, to a global banking security standard, and only tells us that a payment succeeded, not the card behind it.

We also use two small, ordinary cookies: one that remembers where a visitor came from (so we know which parts of the site are actually reaching people), and one that lets a professional leave a profile half-built and come back to finish it later without starting again. Neither reads anything about you beyond that.

How We Use It

To run the marketplace itself — showing a professional’s profile to the businesses searching for someone like them, holding a payment safely until a booking is marked done, and letting both sides get in touch about a booking. To send you the emails a booking actually requires — a confirmation, a receipt, a message from the other side. Never to sell your details to anyone else, and never to send you anything you didn’t ask for.

What We Share, And With Whom

A professional’s public profile — their name, their skills, what they offer — is meant to be found, and is shown publicly by design. Payment details go to Stripe, because that’s how a payment happens. The two people on either side of a booking see each other’s relevant contact details, because that’s how a booking gets done. Beyond that, nobody.

How Long We Keep It

For as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after that in case a booking needs to be looked back on — a tax record, a dispute, a receipt somebody needs again. If you’d like your account and its details removed sooner, ask us and we’ll do it, short of anything we’re required to keep by law.

Your Rights

You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that’s wrong, or ask us to delete it. Under the Australian Privacy Act, you’re entitled to all three, and we’ll act on a real request quickly rather than making you chase it.

Who This Is For

MotherLode HQ is built for adults. It isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect anything from anyone under eighteen.

Keeping It Safe

We take reasonable, real steps to keep what we hold secure — the same standard we’d want applied to our own details. No system anywhere is unbreakable, and if something ever went wrong, we’d tell you plainly and quickly rather than quietly.

If This Page Changes

If how we handle your information changes in any real way, we’ll update this page and say so. The date this was last genuinely changed will always be here rather than hidden.
