For The Business

The Skill You Need, By Tuesday.

Imagine where you could take your business with these people around it.

Strategy, design, finance, admin, the lot — from people who have done it for years, for exactly the hours you need.

Fractional, Led From Here

Eight Experts. One Business. Yours.

Imagine a strategist on Monday, a bookkeeper on Tuesday, a designer on Wednesday — each the best you have ever worked with.

The best of the best, by the hour. Without a desk you were never going to fill.

And Education, Health, HR & People, Project Management and Home.

Nobody Here Writes A Brief

A Brief Is Answered By Anybody. Your Portrait Is Answered By The One Who Fits.

Before you write to a parent, you sit a short Atelier of your own: honest questions, one at a time, in your own words. What comes out is your Business Portrait, and every parent you write to reads it before they reply.

A Traditional Brief

Written once, posted everywhere, answered by anybody

Saltbush Café

Bookkeeping · Remote · Checked on the ABN register

What Becomes Possible

I get my Sunday nights back. Right now I do the books after close, and the café deserves a better version of me on a Monday.

What we keep telling ourselves

That I will sort the receipts once summer quietens down. Summer has quietened down three times now.

A Month From Now

The BAS goes in before the reminder email, not after it.

How we will actually know

The shoebox of receipts under the counter is gone.

The Work

Xero, two bank feeds, about forty supplier bills a month and a BAS every quarter. Done means every month reconciled by the tenth.

And where it stops

Payroll stays with our accountant. You will never chase anybody for a timesheet.

The Hours, Honestly

Any hours you like, as long as the month is reconciled by the tenth. Nap time, school hours, late at night, all of it is fine.

When it runs hot

The fortnight before each BAS, four times a year.

What We Do Well

Our regulars. Some of them have had the same table since the day we opened.

Still being built

Our systems. Receipts live in three places, and we know it.

Who You Will Hear From

Me, Mel, the owner. I usually reply the same evening.

The Invitation

You like a tidy ledger and a good coffee, and you would rather be trusted than managed.

Three Honest Answers

Before You Book A Single Hour.

  1. 01

    What Does It Cost?

Whatever you agree with them — their rate, their terms. MotherLode HQ takes no commission on the work. You are paying for the skill.

  2. 02

    What If It Isn’t Right?

You pay when you book. It is held until the work is done, and released the moment it is. Nobody chases anything, on either side.

  3. 03

Do I Have To Manage Someone?

No handbook, no onboarding week. They already run their own business — you are booking a professional.

What Are You Hoping To Find?

The person already doing exactly this, found in a minute.
